Sarah Barker, Senior Manager, Strategic Bidding

Sarah has recently taken on the role of Senior Manager, in the Global Transaction Banking Strategic Bidding team of Lloyds Banking Group. The responsibilities of this role include line management, driving bid strategy and using MI and insight generated by the team to inform proposition work and drive new business. Sarah leads her team to adopt a client centric and collaborative approach, leading to professional and tailored documents, increasing our chances of success. Sarah joined Commercial Banking on a Graduate training scheme in 2006, and has undertaken a range of client facing and sales management roles, predominately within SME Banking, before moving to GTB to broaden her breadth of view.

After great success in her first Relationship Manager role, she was promoted to look after a portfolio of larger, more complex clients, whilst also managing a small team of junior relationship managers in the West End of London. Following a successful time in this position, and having gained national recognition for winning new business by exceeding target, but also for innovation in practice, Sarah took on a regional performance management role within London & East SME Banking region. Here she was responsible for co-ordinating and analysing business plans to maximise income within defined cost, client service and asset quality targets. As part of this role, Sarah also managed the client impact of complex Group change initiatives such as Lloyds TSB / Bank of Scotland Integration Programme and Project Verde, ensuring seamless client transition and minimal business disruption. In addition, she planned and delivered several large scale events across the Region, for both internal and external audiences.

Prior to her current position, Sarah was Executive Assistant to the Managing Director of GTB Client Coverage, working closely with the senior leadership team on strategic projects, shaping the direction of the business. She led the organisational design work to bring together Commercial Financial and Transaction Banking sales team to create one team, focused on meeting clients' working capital management needs aligned to client segments. She also implemented an improved range of client metrics, ensuring increased accountability and focus for colleagues.

Sarah has extensive experience of influencing a wide range of stakeholders to drive team performance and achieve shared goals, and is passionate about building relationships. She continuously drives improvement initiatives, implementing change to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.
