Lee Hurt, Senior Manager, Strategic Bidding
Lee's current role is Senior Manager in the Lloyds Bank Strategic Bidding team. The responsibilities for this role encompass line management, assisting to drive bid strategy and creating and maintaining the RfP content database, Qvidian. Lee uses Qvidian to increase the efficiency and quality of the bid team's responses. She is also responsible for the Word templates used by the team, ensuring that Brand standards and both Lloyds Bank and Bank of Scotland identities are represented.
Lee has 16 years of experience in various writing roles within the IT, Telecommunications and Financial Services industries. She has been the team lead or sole writer in her past positions, which required her to manage teams of writers locally and offshore. In her previous role at Colt Technology, she created processes and procedures that have been adopted company-wide. She also contributed to creating and documenting the Sales process. She designed and created intranet pages to support the activities within the process.
In her technical writing roles, she has been responsible for managing large-scale documentation projects, involving multiple technical manuals, several diverse, key stakeholders and strict delivery deadline dates. In her position as Lead Technical Writer at Oracle, she successfully led a team of 1 local writer and 8 offshore writers to meet overlapping documentation delivery deadlines for a large and complex product suite. Lee has received a Master of Arts in English degree and a Bachelor of Arts in English degree, graduating summa cum laude (the equivalent of First Class Honours). Lee has taught two semesters of English Composition to University students and tutored University students in the Writing Centre.
