Claire Bird, Bid Manager
Claire’s current role is Senior Bid Manager, where she has responsibility for leading winning tenders across Global Transaction Banking at Lloyds Bank. This role requires strong virtual team and stakeholder management, and application of the Client First mantra to create bespoke proposals with a clear and compelling strategy to win. Claire joined LBG in Sept 2015 with the ambition to apply her extensive experience and expertise within the banking environment.
Claire has extensive experience of the bid process across a range of sectors. She is a highly effective bid manager, focused on effective planning, resource management and client requirements. Claire’s strengths lie in working with teams to develop client focused win strategies, storyboard win themes and identify key differentiators and benefits.
Claire’s career background includes three years as a Senior Proposal Manager within the
construction industry where she lead and championed bid and proposal best practice to improve win rates and proposal capability across an organisation of 2,500 employees. In previous roles she created a new bid team and department, developing and implementing a successful vision and structure, bid strategy and process, identifying new business opportunities and leading the end to end bid process.
Claire has experience of defining, developing and delivering a proposal strategy, identifying development areas and introducing tools, training and lessons learned. She presented her analysis, learning and recommendations to secure buy in at board level.
Claire managed the on-going development of the pioneering Bid and Proposal Apprenticeship Programme, and continues to develop a national standard. She delivered a training programme to enhance bid capability, including championing APMP best practice and developing coaching and mentoring programmes.
